You live in one of the lowest crime rate counties in the country, and we want to keep it that way*.
Join Neighbourhood Watch (ENHW) and keep updated about:
* Security risks, including ever more realistic cons and scams, and how to deal with them (e.g. door step callers, phone calls, emails or web sites)
* Security measures such as neighbours putting your bins out for bin day (even if empty) when you’re away or parking their car in your drive to make your home look inhabited
* Provision of door/window stickers and road signs (to deter thieves and rogues), and heavily discounted security marking kits
You don’t live in isolation; you’re part of a community.
If your road has security weaknesses it’s all at risk from burglars and fraudsters;
they’ll exploit any opportunities and pick on the easiest; if your neighbours’ security is weaker than yours, it’s also a route into your property.

ENHW is an independent organisation, a voluntary crime prevention group; made up by the community, led by the community, with partnerships with the police and the local authority community safety dept.
We aim to reduce crime and disorder and the fear of crime, improving quality of life and making communities safer places to live, by:
* Sharing information about local crime and reporting suspicious incidents;
* Adopting crime prevention measures to protect homes and possessions;
* Tackling local issues, looking out for neighbours, keeping an eye on their homes, especially when away;
* Working closely with the Police and partners to cut crime and the opportunities for crime.
By becoming a member you will be kept updated about recent crimes, security risks and security measures to address them. We aim to keep you informed primarily by email, and occasionally by phone or in person for urgent communications.
If you don’t have email we’ll endeavour to keep you informed by phone if possible.

*Here you can see the annual trends across Elmbridge that show overall crime (all 14 neighbourhood crime types) are reducing, year by year; as are specifically Burglary and Vehicle Crime, those that affect residents the most. (We have the same detailed data, for all neighbourhood crimes, for each electoral ward.)
