Elmbridge Neighbourhood Watch (ENHW) supports residents to create safer, stronger, secure and active communities.
ENHW covers all of Elmbridge and was set up on 6th February 2002, in collaboration between Elmbridge Police and the 5 existing NHW groups across Elmbridge.
Since then ENHW has widened its partnership to include Elmbridge Council Community Safety. ENHW now comprises 8 different regions, but all sharing a common constitution, operational procedures and working practices.
These regions collectively cover watches in Claygate, Cobham, Downside, Esher, Hersham Village, Hinchley Wood & Weston Green, Long Ditton, Molesey East, Molesey West, Oatlands & Burwood Park, Oxshott, Stoke D'Abernon, Thames Ditton, Walton Central, Walton North, Walton South, Weybridge Riverside, and Weybridge St George's Hill.
ENHW members’ contact details are held by local coordinators, and coordinators’ contact details are held centrally and are shared with Elmbridge Police so they can make direct contact should local incidents require it.
An Elmbridge Police volunteer provides regular, detailed feedback on those crimes occurring that most affect residents (burglary and vehicle crime) which are relayed to all our coordinators and members.
There are 14 different neighbourhood crime types*, and we track these from the Police national database to identify local trends and issues. These crime types are recorded by electoral ward, so our detailed crime statistics relate to the ward within which our members live, as shown in the following map.
In addition to these crime updates, information we provide to our coordinators and members includes newsletters, Elmbridge Police updates, fraud newsletters (from Surrey Police) and Trading Standards reports.
So, to become a member of ENHW, please Contact us and your local regional coordinator will be in touch.
